Betty Earline Mccourry

Earline J. McCourry, age 95, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 26, 2025.

She was born on February 13, 1930, a daughter of the late James C. Burdette and Ethel T. Burdette.

A graduate of Simpsonville High School, Earline enjoyed a long career with Wachovia Bank before her retirement. She was a faithful member of Gateway Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family and her walk with the Lord.

Earline is survived by her daughters, Betty Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Vicki Sanders (Bill) of Anderson, SC; granddaughters, Shawn Myers of Lyman, SC, and Alexandria Vaughan of Allen, TX; and three great-grandchildren, Brock Myers, Jameson Morton, and Dylan Morton.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, G.W. McCourry and first husband, James F. Johnson, her sister Jewell Johnson, and her brothers Joe Burdette and Ronnie Burdette.

Earline's family is especially grateful to Ronda Robbins, Gayla McCourry, Randal McCourry, Nancy Kimbrell, and Tina Chastain for their care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304, or to Agape Hospice, 706 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs with Rev. Tim Worthy officiating.
