Betty Kay Gilbert

Betty Kay Mundy Gilbert, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Born in Laurens, SC, on December 8, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Olyn Mundy and Lula Davis Mundy of Laurens, SC.  She is predeceased by a baby boy, Michael Hall and her sisters, Vernelle Mundy Babb (Billy) and Martha Mundy Noffz.

She served in the Air Force Reserve where she met her husband of 44 years.  Betty was a homemaker and a certified nursing assistant for many years. Her hobbies were flower arranging, needle point and gardening.  Betty was a member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Carroll Gilbert; sons, John and Sean Gilbert; brothers, Jerry Mundy (Carolyn), Milford Mundy (Karen); sister, Carolyn Mundy Ford.

A funeral service will be at Cherokee Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2023, with the Rev. Michael Boyter and Rev. Belton Drake officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service.
