Arthur C. Brown

Arthur C. Brown Jr., 91, of Boiling Springs, widower of Edna Lee Brown, passed away on Sunday, May 25th at Valley Falls Terrace.

Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Arthur C. Brown Sr., and Kathleen Wood. Arthur lived a full and purposeful life grounded in hard work, love for his family, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

Arthur worked for over 27 years with Coca-Cola in vending machine maintenance, where he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and steady presence. His hands were always busy and his heart always full—providing for his family with pride and doing his part to keep things running smoothly, day in and day out.

A loving father, husband, and grandfather, Arthur cherished time spent with his loved ones. Outside of work, he found joy in rabbit hunting and raising skilled rabbit hunting dogs. He was an avid fan of baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. He never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite NASCAR drivers, first Bill Elliott and later his son, Chase Elliott.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Ted Brown, and Jimmy Brown, sisters; Ruby Davis, Edith Stephens, and Jean Paige, stepsons; Roger Newman and Marshall Newman.

He is survived by his son, Charles Brown, daughters; Carolyn Knight (Gary), and Cheryl Holcomb (Ray), stepdaughters; Brenda Bingham, and Dorothy Price (Roy), seventeen grandchildren, and 40 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Arthur was a man of quiet strength, good humor, and unwavering values. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness, dependability, and warm smile. Though he lived a humble life, the legacy he leaves behind in the hearts of his family and friends is rich and enduring.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 29th, 2025 in Good Shepard Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dr. David Lancaster officiating.
