Arleen Florence Attaway

Ms. Arleen Florence Attaway, age 99, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Ms. Attaway was born on July 14, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Caroline Hackbarth Janz and Rudy E. Janz. Arleen graduated from Rufus King High School, in Milwaukee, in 1943 and had worked as a secretary at Milliken and Sherman College. She attended the Holy Communion Lutheran Church, where she served as an organist for twenty-five years.

Ms. Attaway is survived by her daughter, Laurel Hendrix; granddaughters, Lisa Miller and her husband, Randy, Christina "Tina" Spring, and Bethany "Beth" Grant; and great- grandson, Christopher Spring and five additional great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Arleen was predeceased by her husband, James Tiller Attaway.
