Alton Kenneth Henson

Alton Kenneth Henson, age 85 of Mooresboro, NC, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 4, 2023. He was born December 5, 1937 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Obe Henson and the late Dezzie Hines Henson. Alton was a US Army veteran serving his country proudly. He was a faithful member of Goodes Creek Baptist Church, loved to ride his tractor while doing yard work and was a loving husband, brother and uncle. Alton was widowed by his wife Mary Willie Jolley Henson and having no children of their own they called their special niece Kim Wilson their daughter.

Survivors include his brother Broughton Henson and his wife Mary Lou, sister Helen "Bobbie" Harris and numerous special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Alton was preceded in death by three brothers; Furman "Bo" Henson, Whitey Henson and Jack Henson, two sisters; Jean Wilson and Frances Silver.

The family will conduct their own private memorial service at a later date. Reverend Dale Welch will officiate the memorial service and military honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
