Aleksandr Vasilyevich Melnichuk

Aleksandr Vasilyevich Melnichuk was born March 3, 1967 in the city of Snezhnoe, Ukraine to Vasiliy and Lidiya Melnichuk and was the youngest of 3 siblings. He attended SPTU #128 (a technical college) where he studied tailoring. Growing up he was active in his local church and it was here that he met his future wife, Svetlana, during youth services. The two were married on November 27, 1988 and moved to Azov, Russia. They had their first and only son, Igor, on September 24, 1989. He continued in active ministry in his new church and enjoyed his family. In 1997, the Melnichuks immigrated to Erie, PA and began their new journey. Though such a drastic move was difficult, Aleksandr loved living in America and was grateful to have moved. He loved the church, his immediate and extended family, music, traveling and having a good hearty laugh. Aleksandr was diagnosed with dementia in 2019 and his decline began. He was taken home by the Lord on the morning of January 8, 2026. In his passing he joins his father, Vasiliy. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Svetlana; his son, Igor; 3 grandsons, Ezra, Timothy, and Mark; his mother, Lidiya; sister, Vera; brother, Vladimir; and countless cousins and their children.
