Albert Kenneth Ramsey

Albert Kenneth Ramsey, age 88, loving husband of Sara Chapman Ramsey, passed away on July 30, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Ken was born on July 26, 1937, in Arcadia, South Carolina, to the late Cumy Hammond Ramsey and Albert Ramsey.

He served proudly in the US Navy as an Aviation Electrician and worked as a machine operator for Draper Corp and Wabco., until retirement.  Ken was a hard worker and a simple man of faith. He was a long-time member of Fairview Baptist Church and enjoyed attending church revivals and taking road trips through the mountains. He was affectionately known as the "Candy Man", because he always had a pocket full of Werther's Originals to give out at church, and every Friday was known as "H-H-H Day", Hardee's, Hair and Holmes.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixty-three years, Sara; daughter, Teresa Comer (Michael); grandson, Zach Comer (Shelby); and great-granddaughter, Sarah Jean Comer.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Scott; brother, Jerry Ramsey; sisters, Barbara Gilbert, and Betty Joan Sparnell.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and the staff of Wesley Court for the care and compassion shown to Ken during his final days.

A funeral service will be held, at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 3, 2025, in the Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Boiling Springs, with the Rev. Gary Pruitt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Interment will be private.
