Alan Ray Walker

Alan (Hoo Doo) Walker, 60, of Cowpens, South Carolina, son of Douglas Ray Walker and Diane L. Walker of Chesnee, South Carolina won his race and received his Golden Trophy and Shield on Friday, July 12, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Ray Walker.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Beatrice Lynn Hurley Walker; son, Daniel Walker (Danielle); mother, Diane L. Walker; and granddaughter, Emma Lynn Walker (Tootie Toot) of Spartanburg.

He is also survived by sons, Joshua Tolleson and Cory Walker.

Alan graduated from both Southwest Virginia Community College and East Tennessee State University with Magna Cum Laude Honors and was also recognized in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
After devoting his life to Christ, his testimony and his kind, loving, and generous heart touched many lives. Alan's passion of racing complimented his larger than life personality.

Thanks to his loving, close family for all the help, and for making the last few months full of love, laughter, tears, faith, and prayer. Also, special thanks to Ileda (Lynn's sister)for always being there, and to Pastor Randy Shields for the continued support.

The family also wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Hospice team, especially his nurse, Carrie.

A visitation will be held from 7:00PM until 9:00PM on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.

Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee with Rev. Randy Shields officiating, and Eric Walls as special speaker. Burial will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are his nephews and friends, Chris Stapleton, Allan Bailey, Brian Stapleton, Phoenix Lawter, Eric Walls, Michael Lindsey, Carlos Ramirez, and Hugo Ramirez.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Donald Bush, Terry Hall, Steve Hurley, Paul Hurley, Mack Hurley, Coty Hurley, Hassell Bailey, Billy Cain, and Joshua Hurley.
