Melvin Lewis “Moose” Lassiter, 66, of 209 River Bluff Ext., passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Willow Ridge Nursing Center. He was the son of the late Louis Gilbert and Herlon Ward Lassiter. He was a US Air Force Veteran, an instructor at Spartanburg Tech in the HVAC Department and a member of Chesnee Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Clydine Shoemaker Lassiter; sons Jerry W. Hazard and wife Vickie, Scott O. Hazard, Wayne Gilbert Lassiter and wife Tammy; daughters Shelia Barnes, Cindy Gilbert; brother Wayne Lassiter; sister Susie Gregory; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by a son Melvin Lewis Lassiter.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Chesnee Freewill Baptist Church.
The family will be at the home.
