John H. Sewell, 85, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Naomi Cooksey Sewell of the home.
Mr. Sewell was a native of Spartanburg County and a son of the late O. Ellington and Luartie Clubb Sewell. He was retired owner of Sewell Heating, Roofing and Sheetmetal Works, was a World War II naval veteran, and a retired Constable with Spartanburg County. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Gene (and late Sandy) Sewell of Boiling Springs; daughters and sons in law: Elaine and Dennis Hall, Reba and Danny Hammett, and Karen and Mike Davis all of Boiling Springs. Six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive him. He was predeceased by four sisters and four brothers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Ty Childers and Rev. John Lancaster. Interment will be in the Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arling Sewell, Jr., Jonathan Holland, Bo Sewell, Jim Wood, John Carroll Wood, and Larry Price.
The family will be at the home.
