Obituary:
Kenneth Peek “KP” Gibson, 69, of 5 Dodd Lane, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Smith Phayer Hospice House. He was the son of the late Glen and Evelyn Henderson Gibson. He was a graduate of Daniel High School and a retired South Carolina State Trooper. He was a member of New Life Baptist Fellowship where he served as Trustee and he was a Mason. He is survived by his wife of 12 years Martha L. “Maggie” Ridings Gibson; children Glenda Warner (Charles), Sonya Edwards (Mark), Dayle Walker (Lori), Zachary Gilbert; brothers Charles Gibson (Linda) of Six Mile, David Gibson (Ann) of Inman; sister Joyce Watson (Coy) of Pickens; grandchildren Adam, Seth and Ben Warner, Chelsea and Matthew Graham, Benjamin and Nicholas Edwards, Caitlyn and Dylan Walker. He is predeceased by a brother Billy Gibson. Visitation will held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Eggers Funeral Home, Boiling Springs. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at New Life Baptist Fellowship officiated by the Revs. William Harris and Kenny Owen. Burial will follow at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the SC Highway Patrol Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Trustees of New Life Baptist Fellowship and the SC Highway Patrol. Memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Fellowship, Building Fund, P.O. Box 161539, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family is at the home.
