James Buren Moore, 77, of 361 Double Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at his home. He was the husband to Wilma Doris Kimbrell Moore for 55 years.
Mr. Moore was a native of Spartanburg County and a son of the late Marcus Roland and Buna Lee Seay Moore. He was a retired textile supervisor and a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son and daughter in law: Mickey Lane and Elizabeth Ann Bates Moore of Boiling Springs; a sister Lavonia Elizabeth Blackwell of Greenville; grandchildren: Alexis Lane McPherson and husband, Chad Anthony McPherson, Brittany Diane Harrill and husband, Phillip Benjamin Harrill, LCPL Blake Allen Moore, USMC; step grandchildren: Amber Brittany Roy and Amanda Elizabeth Roy; great grandchildren: Carleigh Blake Scruggs, Brooklyn Ava Harrill, and Channing James Belcher. He was predeceased by brothers: Lewis James Moore and Marcus Roy Moore; paternal grandparents: Richard Asberry and Betty Elizabeth Cook Moore and maternal grandparents: Riley “Nedd” Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth Thomas Seay, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 in the Funeral Chapel officiated by Dr. Hank Williams and Rev. Bobby Lindsey. Interment will be in Boiling Springs First Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mychal Belcher, Scott Kimbrell, Brett Kimbrell, Adam Kimbrell, Jim Clements, and John Clements. Honorary pallbearers will be Maxie Johnson, Jimmy Morrow, Otis Fisher, and Leon Hall.
Memorials may be made to Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 110 S. Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
The family will be at the home of Mickey Moore, 353 Double Bridge Road, Boiling Springs. They would also like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers: Ada, Ivey and Mandy.
