Love and Memories
Grief Support Group Meetings
Eggers is glad to offer Love and Memories, a grief support group that meets to provide a safe and encouraging place to begin or continue your healing process after a loss. All are welcome to attend, regardless of when a death occurred or whether Eggers handled the service. We normally meet the 4th Thursday of every month from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, but are taking a break over the summer months. If you have any questions or wish to join, please call (864) 578-3838.

Pursuit of Excellence Award
Eggers Funeral Home Receives National Recognition for Innovative Service to Families,
Outstanding Community Outreach
In October, 2012, Eggers Funeral Home was honored with the 2012 Pursuit of Excellence® Award by the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) during its International Convention & Expo in Charlotte, NC. Only 166 firms from around the world received this prestigious recognition, placing Eggers Funeral Home among the top two percent of funeral service providers in the industry. Pursuit of Excellence Award recipients raise the bar on funeral service excellence by adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards and providing unsurpassed service to families and communities.
To achieve the Pursuit of Excellence Award, NFDA-member funeral homes must evaluate components of their business against standards set forth by the Pursuit of Excellence program and demonstrate proficiency in key areas of the funeral service profession. Participants are required to fulfill criteria in six categories of achievement that demonstrate commitment to: complying with state and federal regulations; providing ongoing education and professional development opportunities for staff; offering outstanding programs and resources to bereaved families; maintaining an active level of involvement within the community; participating and actively serving in the funeral service profession; and promoting funeral home services through a variety of marketing, advertising and public relations programs.
“Eggers Funeral Home’s voluntary participation in the Pursuit of Excellence program reflects a clear determination to exceed the expectations of those they serve,” said NFDA Chief Executive Officer Christine Pepper, CAE. “This prestigious recognition assures families of the high-quality, compassionate service they will receive the moment they walk through the funeral home’s front door.”
Eggers Funeral Home has participated in the program since 2004 and intends to continuously be apart of this elite program until we are inducted into the Hall of Fame of Excellent Funeral Homes.
Eggers of Chesnee Accepted as Member of the International Order of the Golden Rule
Chesnee, SC - (2011) - Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee has been accepted for membership in the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), a professional association of more than 700 leading independently owned and operated Golden Rule funeral homes.
Acceptance requires that members adhere to a strict code of ethics and standards, ensuring that Golden Rule funeral homes provide dignified, caring service at fair and reasonable prices. In order to retain its membership, Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee must consistently demonstrate its dedication to providing quality funeral service to its client families.
"Although ours is a worldwide organization, all members must adhere to the association's standards of conduct that guide their business practices," said Dianne Hughes, OGR executive director. "Before qualification into the association, Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee was subjected to a highly selective process that included gathering comments from members of their community. We are pleased that Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee has met the stringent requirements and has earned many recommendations from the Chesnee area."
"We take great pride in the caring service we provide to our bereaved families," said Betty Eggers, co-owner of Eggers Funeral Homes and Crematory. "Membership in OGR will provide us with more resources to better serve our families' needs."
OGR was founded in 1928 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. To ensure that OGR maintains its standards of excellence, funeral homes that wish to join must first pass a rigorous application process and demonstrate and maintain only the highest standards of service, integrity, care, and compassion. As a member of OGR, Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee has pledged to adhere to the association's long-standing credo: "Service measured not by gold, but by the Golden Rule."
