In the year 1919 President Woodrow Wilson
declared Armistice Day on the first anniversary
after World War I had ended. This was a way for
our country to honor our allied soldiers who had lost their lives. In 1954 the holiday became known as Veterans
Day to honor American Veterans, living and deceased who served our country with
honor during times of war and peace.
